National Gallery - Ambrosius Bosschaert
London, UK
Working with Lumsden, Technically Creative was approached to provide a technical solution to a concept of flowing art across a designed space, broken up by bespoke cabinets in the newly refurbished Portico Shop.
Technically Creative were able to manipulate the existing artwork digitally to create seperate layers to animate whilst keeping the original artist intention and brush strokes. Content was animated internally and programmed to play across multiple media players. Our team was able to supply and install a solution that perfectly captured the vision by utilising multiple displays linked together in a bespoke segmented video wall.
For this installation Ambrosius Bosschaert was chosen as the artist. We were able to use the original artwork and convert some of the painting into 3D assets. The butterfly was selected to bring life and breathe a layer of realism into the paintings which enabled visitors to view the works in a new way. We also isolated layers of the bumble bee in the painting so that we could animate it flying between flowers.
Our installation team and AV engineers were able to install the content and media players and include options for easily updating the content for future updates. The project was a success and we were asked for many following content updates in the future.
