Eden Camp - Human Torpedo
Malton, North Yorkshire, England
We worked with Eden Camp Modern History Museum for a second time after a successful Blitz experience installation. This time we were required to create an immersive space showcasing the Human Torpedoes as part of a 20th Anniversary of the display. We wanted to create an experience that not only showcases the existing display items, but also highlights the invention and their purpose in wartime by using a mix of animation, sound, lighting and special effects. The new area featured real human torpedo’s, an interactive water pressure exhibit, additional monitors playing educational content, Interactive touchscreen with Human Torpedo information, Timeline graphics, programmed water refraction lighting effects, advanced sound editing and even a hologram special effect of two divers fixing a torpedo to the hull of a physical ship prop. Technically Creative designed and installed all AV effects, produced joinery carcasses for wall partitions, fixed graphics and installed all
We put our creative minds to work and the result was a modern aesthetic to encompass a rare piece of history. Combining up to date AV technology and original war relics was an honour and clearly demonstrates how both mediums can be used in tandem to enhanced the museum experience.
